Healthy Eating

Update 7/19/14: Changing the name of this page to "Healthy Eating"....see this post for the reason why! We still have the same goals, we are just modifying our means to the end :) FYI, I think the Clean Program is great to do once to learn about your body and how it reacts to certain food, but after that...find your own way! I'll update with our adventures in eating healthy!

Here I will document our adventures on the Clean Program each January. One of our goals is to stay healthy so that we can continue to go on adventures well into old, old, old age. The Clean Program Cleanse is a 21 day program meant to cleanse your system. I was very opposed to cleanses (see photo to left) before we did this one, I think they can be dangerous (lemon juice and cayenne powder for days? NO THANK YOU) but I found out during our first year that this cleanse provided the necessary nutrients minus all the junk I'm used to eating: candy bars, donuts, pizza, etc...not as treats, as like the staples of my diet. I may not be able to eat like this all year long, but it definitely reminds me how much better I feel when I'm eating more fresh food and less preservatives. If it pushes me to do a lil exercise too, even better!
